Pakistan Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development has announced that international travellers can now buy tickets directly from the airline websites and fly directly without the need to wait for the Consulate or Embassy for approval to travel.

Dr Moeed Yusuf, special assistant to Pakistan Prime Minister on National Security, said all airlines will be allowed to operate in Pakistan from June 20. During a press conference at Islamabad, he said the resumption of flights will aid stranded Pakistanis to return home. The flights are initially allowed to operate at 25% occupancy.

International travellers will have to self quarantine at home for 14days after their arrival in Pakistan. Eight airports across the country will receive repatriation flights. More airports and flights will be announced in coming weeks to facilitate the return of overseas Pakistanis.
